Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Deep groove ball bearings are capable of operating at high speeds and are widely used radial bearings. These non-separable bearings are available in a wide variety of seal, shield and snap-ring arrangements. It requires little attention or maintenance in service.

Physical Characteristics

  • Deep groove ball bearings have deep uninterrupted raceways. This allows them to carry axial loads in both directions at reasonably high speeds.
  • The bearing ring grooves are circular arcs made slightly larger than the radius of the ball.
  • The balls make point contact with the raceways (elliptical contact when loaded).
  • The inner ring shoulders are of equal height (as the outer ring shoulders).

Advantages Of Deep Groove Ball Bearings

  • Can sustain radial, axial, or composite loads.
  • Can provide both high-running accuracy and high-speed operation.
  • Can take the place of high speed angular contact ball bearings.
  • Simple design.
  • Maintenance free.
  • Longer service life.

Application Of Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Deep groove ball bearings are widely used, when

  • axial loads from two directions have to be transmitted, and existing space does not allow installation of matched spindle bearings.
  • best possible guidance of rotating parts is required and speed is less important.

Buying Tips Selecting Deep Groove Ball Bearings
Before selecting a deep groove ball bearing you should take note of the followings:

  • Material - Chrome steel, High temperature steel, ball material
  • Maintenance requirements bearing applications
  • Service life
  • Bearing clearance
  • Sealing efficiency
  • Contamination exclusion and grease retention
  • Low-friction seals for energy saving

Types Of Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Deep Groove ball bearings with an outside diameter less than 9 mm are known as Miniature ball bearings. Deep Groove ball bearings with an outside diameter ~ 9 mm and a bore diameter < 10 mm are known as Extra-small ball bearings. Deep groove ball bearings with seals or shields are standardized. They contain proper amount of grease in advance.

  • Small shielded - The smaller shielded bearings have a sheet steel shield forming a long sealing gap. These bearings are preferred for application where the inner ring rotates. The rotation of outer ring may cause spilling of grease.
  • Large shielded - The larger shielded bearings do not have a cylindrical section in the shield bore. These bearings are preferred for application where the inner ring rotates. The rotation of outer ring may cause spilling of grease.
  • Low friction seal - In the ball bearings with a low friction seal, the lip of the seal forms a narrow gap with the land of the inner ring making it non-rubbing type. These seals allow same quality as in shields with a better sealing. They are made of oil and synthetic rubber with a sheet steel reinforcement. Operating temperature is -40° C to 120° C.
  • Sealed ball bearings - In the sealed ball bearings the sealing lips seal against the recesses of the inner ring and the outer diameter of the seal form the outer diameter of the outer ring. They are made of oil and synthetic rubber with a sheet steel reinforcement. Operating temperature is -40° C to 120° C. At higher speeds the grease may leak out.

Deep Groove Ball Bearings Specifications & Standards

  • Dimensions - The dimensions are as per the ISO recommendations.
  • Alignment - They have limited ability to adjust to alignment problems. There is a permissible level of angular misalignment that will not produce additional stress. It depends on the radial internal clearance, bearing size, internal design and forces acting.
  • Tolerance - They are usually meant for normal tolerance but can be enhanced.
  • Internal Clearance - The normal radial internal clearance is taken as standard but there may be certain variations. Values confirm to ISO recommendations.
  • Cages - There are standard cages but some may have pressed steel cage, glass fiber reinforced, or machined brass cages.
  • Minimum Load

China Traditional Metal Casting

Monday, December 28th, 2009

We provide you quality information and guidelines on industrial metal casting processes, alloys, tooling & machining, metal casting industry specially designed and regularly updated by industry experts.

Melting Foundry Furnaces Here you will find a general overview of foundry furnace technology most commonly used in the metal casting industry. Energy is a major cost in all foundries. The majority of energy used is in the melting and metal holding processes.

Five types of foundry furnaces are commonly used to melt metal: cupola, electric arc, reverberatory, induction and crucible. Some foundries operate more than one type of furnace and may even transfer molten metal between furnace types in order to make use of the best features of each. The choice of which furnace or furnaces to use, or the decision to change from one type of foundry furnace to another, is not simple but depends on a number of factors. These include: the scale of the operation, the type of process (e.g. repetition or jobbing), the types of metals required, the raw materials available, the relative cost of fuels (e.g. coal, natural gas, electricity), capital, maintenance and operational costs, and environmental requirements and costs.

Casting Processes

This section contains detailed description of all the major casting processes specially designed for the benefit of the buyers who are looking for buying casting products for applications across the industries. Metal casting processes are used to design and manufacture a variety of components and finished products. Almost everything ranging from simple nails and fasteners to large machine parts and engine blocks can be casted using these casting processes. Most popular and commonly used metal casting processes are sand casting, investment casting, centrifugal casting, die casting, lost foam casting, permanent mold casting etc.

Usually, large machine parts and other components of iron, bronze, brass and aluminum are produced through sand casting process. Natural or synthetic sand is used to make moulds from sand casting process. Casting is done by pouring molten metal into the mould cavity, which is designed out of sand. Sand casting components come with surface impurities and surface variations and a rough surface.

Hongyi Stainless steel casting

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

We are specialized in working stainless steel precise casting parts, stainless steel castings normally produced by precise investment casting process which is called silica sol casting or Colloidal silica process in China, this process is ideally suitable for complex metal shapes and high grade of alloy. It is worked in a special designed workshop, with strict material, Temp, processes controlling, and it offers castings in very smooth surface finishing, closed tolerance and in purity of alloy grade; in generally speaking, it is suitable for small weight castings and high quality requested parts.

In case of its closed tolerance can be worked, Investment castings can achieve near net shapes with very little secondary operations required, even no need to do any machining again, this allows the customers to have very little waste of raw material and reducing overall costs.

Of cause, we offer bigger stainless castings too, it is also can be produced by general lost wax casting process ( water glass process) to get the costs little lower, such as stainless steel valve body castings¡¡

Stainless steel investment castings are primarily used for corrosion resistance; aasion resistance and they typically do not require plating. Stainless steel is one of the most common investment casting materials, in particular are material of ASTM 304SS and 316 SS ,  also includes various types of other material, normally is Chrome-Nickel Stainless Steels, such as ASTM 302, 303, ASTM 304/CF8, ASTM 316/CF8M, and ASTM 410 etc.; also Chrome stainless steels like 1Cr13, 2Cr13, 1Cr18, 0Cr18, Cr27 etc. we can make all possible material according to customer’s requirements.

Ball Bearing & Ball Bearing Manufacturing

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Bearings may be classified broadly according to the motions they allow and principle of operation as well as by the directions of applied loads they can handle. Generally, they are ball bearing, car engine bearing, car wheel bearing, belt tensioner bearing, clutch release bearings, clutch bearing, NTN bearing, NTN ball bearing and other special bearings.

* For automotive bearing types, there are: Gearbox bearings
* Wheel hub ball bearings
* Water pump bearings
* Clutch release bearings
* Suspension bearings
* Needle bearings for automotive
* Needle roller bearings
* Taper roller bearings

Automotive Bearing - Ball Bearing

There are many types of bearings. Ball bearings are probably the most common type of bearing. They are found in everything from inline skates to hard drives. These bearings can handle both radial and thrust loads, and are usually found in applications where the load is relatively small. While tolerance is an important factor in the performance of a bearing, there are many other factors that also affect the suitability of a bearing to its application. Most ball bearings are single-row designs. Some double-row designs are available but they need better alignment than single-row bearings.
Automotive - Clutch Bearing / Clutch Release Bearing

An automotive clutch release bearing is a major part of auto vehicle. With the development of the auto industry , different types of clutch release bearings have been developed to meet different situation. It has developed from the type of low speed unit with non-self-aligning, free outer ring, cast iron sleeve, integral of the inner ring and the sleeve, today clutch release bearings with self-aligning, rotational inner ring, pressed cover, pressed sleeve or plastic sleeve have been developed to operate under high rotational speed reliably. It achieves components integrality by reducing the weight, cost and also offering a reliable operation and long service life.
Automotive Bearing - Wheel Bearing

If you want to your car to be smooth to drive, make the wheel bearing particularly one of your priorities. Wheel bearings hold your wheels on and allow them to spin properly. They are not an automotive component to be taken lightly. Most wheel bearings are sealed at the factory and don¡¯t require replacement until, perhaps, 150,000 miles.

Home Patch Panel

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Patch panelA patch panel or patch bay is a panel, typically rackmounted, that houses cable connections. One typically shorter patch cable will plug into the front side, whereas the back holds the connection of a much longer and more permanent cable. The assembly of hardware is arranged so that a number of circuits, usually of the same or similar type, appear on jacks for monitoring, interconnecting, and testing circuits in a convenient, flexible manner.

Patch panels offer the convenience of allowing technicians to quickly change the path of select signals, without the expense of dedicated switching equipment. This was first used by early telephone exchanges, where the telephone switchboard (a massive array of patch panels) and a large room full of telephone operators running it was ubiquitous.

Uses and connectors

In recording studios, television and radio broadcast studios, and concert sound reinforcement systems, patchbays are widely used to facilitate the connection of different devices, such as microphones, electric or electronic instruments, effects (e.g., compression, reverb, etc.), recording gear, amplifiers, or broadcasting equipment. Patchbays make it easier to connect different devices in different orders for different projects, because all of the changes can be made at the patchbay. As well, patchbays make it easier to troubleshoot problems such as ground loops; even small home studios and amateur project studios often use patchbays, because it groups all of the input jacks into one location. This means that devices mounted in racks or keyboard instruments can be connected without having to hunt around behind the rack or instrument with a flashlight for the right jack. Using a patchbay also saves wear and tear on the input jacks of studio gear and instruments, because all of the connections are made with the patchbay.

Switches

Dedicated switching equipment can be an alternative to patch bays in some applications. Switchers can make routing as easy as pushing a button, and can provide other benefits over patch bays, including routing a signal to any number of destinations simultaneously. However, switching equipment that can emulate the capabilities of a given patch bay is much more expensive.

Example: a 16-point S-Video patch panel, with 8 patch cables, may cost $300.00[citation needed], and connect 8 inputs and 8 outputs. An S-Video matrix routing switcher with the same capability (8×8) would probably cost between $2,000.00 and $4,000.00 new, though it would probably have more capabilities, including audio-follow-video and built-in distribution amplifiers.

There are various types of switchers for audio and video, from simple selector switches to sophisticated production switchers. However, emulating or exceeding the capabilities of audio and/or video patch bays requires specialized devices like routing switchers and matrix routers (aka “crosspoint switchers”).

Like patch panels, switching equipment for nearly any type of signal is available, including analog and digital video and audio, as well as RF (cable TV), MIDI, telephone, networking, electrical, and just about anything else.

Switching equipment may be electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical. Some switcher hardware can be controlled via computer and/or other external devices. Some have automated and/or pre-programmed operational capabilities. There are also software switcher applications used to route signals and control data within a “pure digital” computer environment.

Distribution frames are cheaper, but less convenient.

China Air Gun Manufacturer

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

An air gun (e.g. air rifle or air pistol) is a rifle, pistol, or shotgun which fires projectiles by means of compressed air or other gas, in contrast to a firearm which burns a propellant. Most air guns use metallic projectiles as ammunition. Air guns that only use plastic projectiles are classified as airsoft guns.

There are different mehods of powering an air gun. These methods can be broadly divided into 3 groups: spring-piston, pneumatic, and CO2. These methods are used in both air rifles and air pistols

Gas Spring

Some makes of air rifle (e.g. Weihrauch, Theoben) incorporate a gas spring in some models instead of a mechanical spring. Pressurized air or nitrogen is held in a special chamber built into the piston, and this air is further pressurized when the gun is cocked. It is, in effect, a gas spring commonly referred to as a "gas ram" or "gas strut". Gas spring units require higher precision to build, since they require a low friction sliding seal that can withstand the high pressures when cocked. Gas spring units are available as an upgrade for some popular models such as the Weirauch HW80 like the Crosman 766C American Classic air rifle and the Arowsmith 876 Magnum rifle. The advantages of the gas spring include the facility to keep the rifle cocked and ready to fire for long periods of time without harming the mechanism. Also, since there is no spring (and therefore a reduction in moving mass during firing) there is less (although some say slightly sharper), recoil. There is also an elimination of the associated problems of long-term spring fatigue and a faster "lock time" (the time between pulling the trigger and the pellet being discharged). The improvement in lock time makes for better accuracy since there is less time for the gun to move off target. Finally, gas springs are practically maintenance free and last longer than conventional metal springs (research test ch1208), however they are an order of magnitude more expensive when they do need replacement.

Pneumatic

Pneumatic air guns utilize pre-compressed air as the source of energy to propel the projectile. Single-stroke and multi-stroke guns utilize an on board pump to pressurize the air in their reservoir, Pre-charged Pneumatic guns’ reservoirs are filled using either a high-pressure hand pump (often capable of attaining pressures of 30 MPa) or by decanting the necessary volume/pressure of air from a diving cylinder. Because of this design, having no significant movement of heavy mechanical parts during the firing cycle, the recoil produced is only the "true" recoil, equivalent to the equal and opposite reaction to the pellet and air volume’s acceleration up the bore.

Multi-stroke

Multi-Stroke pneumatic air guns require 2-10 pumps of an on-board lever to store compressed air within the air gun. Variable power can be achieved through this process, as the user can adapt the power level for long, or short-range shooting. The design of higher quality and match-grade multi-stroke air rifles can propel a pellet to speeds in excess of 1,000 feet per second (300 m/s)[citation needed].

For beginners and intermediates, multi-stroke air rifles have been a cost-effective choice as they are generally the cheapest form of air gun available. Several manufacturers make multi-stroke air guns including, to name a few, Sheridan, Benjamin, Daisy, and Crosman. Modified multi-pump guns, with stronger pump linkages and improved valves, can produce muzzle energies in excess of 30 foot-pounds force (41 J)

The most common Air gun calibers are:

  • .177" (4.5 mm) - the most common caliber, also used in ISSF shooting events at the Olympic Games, it has the flattest trajectory of all the calibers for a given energy level, making accuracy simpler.
  • .20" (5.0 mm) - found in some European air guns and those manufactured by china air gun manufacturer, Sheridan. This is generally considered to be a ‘compromise calibre’, having a flatter trajectory similar to the .177 but more energy retention. .20" pellets tend to be of a similar weight to .22" pellets, but with an elongated profile, resulting in a higher Ballistic Coefficient (BC) than either .177" or .22" pellets.
  • .22" (5.5 mm & 5.6 mm) - the most common caliber for hunting small game, as it delivers large amounts of energy on impact (more so than the smaller calibers).
  • .25" (6.35 mm) - the largest commonly available caliber. This caliber is renowned for its impact, having the most energy retention of all calibers. However, it does have a highly parabolic trajectory at low energy levels and is thus more suited for higher powered rifles.

Custom air gun manufacturers regularly produce air rifles in common muzzle loading rifle calibers too, such as .45" (11.25 mm), .50" (12.5 mm), .58" (14.5 mm) and larger.
